B01_04F_LMM_H: How to prepare input date for 4-story lumped model with hysteresis damper
Select "Option"> "Structure" from the menu. Leave degrees of freedom number (1) in the horizontal X direction and restrict other degrees of freedom number (2345678).
Since the restoring force characteristic of each layer is defined as a passive damper, select "option"> "member" from the menu and change the passive damper to be "Considered".
Dummy numerical values are put in the spans in the X direction and the Y direction (for example, 5000 mm in the X direction, 1000 mm in the Y direction). Place the passive damping members (D1 on the first floor, D2 on the second floor, etc.) and enter the weight and the height of the story. Enter up to 4th floor (D4).
Place the passive damper members in parallel. The number shall be the consecutive number (D5 on the first floor, D6 on the second floor, etc.). Enter up to 4th floor (D8).
The back (D1 to D4) is the basic members with elastic spring, and the foreground (D5 to D8) is the dampers with bi-linear hysteresis. Click the icon of the passive damper and enter the characteristics of the basic members (D1 to D4, elastic spring).
Subsequently, input the characteristics of the hysteresis damper (D5 to D8, bilinear hysteresis).
